Old Bank Hotel
92-94 High Street, Oxford OX1 4BN

REGION: Oxfordshire  COUNTRY: England

Old Bank, Oxford, Oxfordshire

The Old Bank Hotel, a hotel of timeless luxury, sets the standard for modern, comfortable and stylish accommodation in Oxford. Located on the High St, the Old Bank was the first hotel to be created in the centre of Oxford for 135 years and offers the best of both the historic old city and the modern, vibrant social scene.

With exceptional levels of personal service, contemporary style and elegance as the basis of an Old Bank experience, prepare to be greeted with a new and fresh hotel experience. Most of the 42 rooms were created with spectacular views for guests to enjoy Oxford's famous skyline of towers and spires. Characterising every room are clever and original combinations of linen bed covers trimmed with velvet and shantung silk harmonised with all the latest mod-cons and a dazzling collection of 20th Century British art.

Lying at the heart of the hotel is the perennially popular Quod Restaurant and Bar. Vibrant and energetic from Monday to Sunday, the restaurant is contemporarily designed with stone floors, an oval zinc-topped bar and leather banquette seating. Offering fresh Italian style dishes from breakfast onwards, the emphasis is on good quality seasonal produce, and an excellent atmosphere.

The hotel and restaurant feature an impressive collection of 20th Century British art, personally selected by the hotel’s owner, Jeremy Mogford. There are original Stanley Spencer prints in each bedroom, two photographic collections from the famous local photographer Paddy Summerfield in the lobby as well as a vast array of drawings, oils, sculpture and paintings throughout the hotel.

Guest’s visits are often remembered by the artwork that characterised the room in which they stayed. If you would like to find out more about any of our featured artists, please feel free to contact us. Each month we will feature a different artist whose work is shown within the hotel.

Oxford is a subtle city with a world of adventure hidden behind every closed door. Each one of our 42 rooms has its own, unique personality to match. Take your pick from stunning skyline views across the roof tops of Oxford, the tranquil gardens and grounds of the colleges, the hustle and bustle of the High St, or the sun terrace of Quod Restaurant, busy from dawn ‘til dusk.

The spires and cupolas that have helped make Oxford famous will greet you at every turn. A perfect blend of style, elegance and comfort will ensure that your stay in Oxford is a memorable one.
