Home Hosted Dinner Program in Copenhagen

In our very unique and successful Home Hosted Dinner Arrangements, we give tourists and business guests from around the world, the opportunity to Visit The Danes in their own homes. We invite your guests “To Hans Christian Andersen’s home country” to enjoy a home cooked dinner in the glow of candle light. This unique event opens the possibility to get an all around knowledge about the Danes and the Danish lifestyle and culture.

Within a few years our concept Home Hosted Dinners has become “world famous” and we have had journalist visiting us from many different countries, which have brought us in many medias around the world.

In November 2002 we won an international price for our Home Dinner concept, which we received in London for Best Overseas Tourism Project (British Guild of Travel Writers “The Silver Otter award”).

In February 2004 Meet The Danes received the national award Danish Joint Tourism Council’s Initiative Prize for 2003.

We have co-operation with some large travel agency and the evaluation from many of the guests has been; that the Home Hosted Dinner in Copenhagen was the highlight of their Scandinavian tour. We always split larger groups into smaller groups of 4-8 persons to ensure the quality of the visit. The return transportation is with taxis and minivans to ensure that the guests are not waiting.

We have about 350 hosts at the moment and more coming in every day, in all ages, in the City centre as well as outside Copenhagen. Our hosts really enjoy meeting people from the rest of the world and have the resources to participate and show their hospitality in these arrangements. The hosts and the guests are very often communicating afterwards and this cultural exchange gives both the guests and the hosts a feeling that they have got new friends from the other side of the world.

The Home Hosted Dinners can be arranged all year around.
