Hotel J and J , 4*, Florence
This hotel underwent improvements in 2003. The hotel has been created in a 16th century monastery located in a residential area, a short walk from the Cathedral (Duomo), Santa Croce and the historical center of Florence. The original frescoes have been preserved on the walls. A steep flight of stairs leads to the accommodations, which include six spacious suites, some of which have a nice terrace. The rooms are all different and are mainly located at the back of the hotel. They are cozy and quiet yet maintain a high standard of furnishings (with some antiques) and amenities, including satellite television and mini bar. The bathrooms, some of which have been redone in 2003, are well done, bright and clean. The hotel serves a full buffet breakfast in a lovely, bright room adjacent to the lobby and, weather permitting, outside in the enclosed cloister surrounded by flowers. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but there are many choices nearby. This hotel is small enough to be able to offer personal attention to its guests. We recommends booking early as the J and J is a very popular property and has many repeat clients who enjoy not only the ambience of the hotel but also its prime location.
NOTE: This hotel has two floors and NO ELEVATOR. It is not appropriate for persons with limited mobility. The hotel has an arrangement with a nearby garage for pickup and delivery service for the clients for a fee.
